An Awesome Book Event

Santa Fe author Janie Chodosh had an AWESOME book event for the release of Code Red:
Book 2 in the Faith Flores Science Mystery Series. Notice I didn’t say book reading…because the evening was way more than just a book reading.fullsizerender-3

Code Red is a young adult novel so one of the first great things Janie did for her book event was arrange for a staged reading to be performed by high school actors from the New Mexico School of the Arts, and they in turn invited their img_5701friends to come and watch.

It was standing room only and Janie had a nice table display set up with Death Spiral, the first book in the series along with Code Red. She came prepared to sell books, bringing extra copies in case the bookstore sold out, which they did.

fullsizerender-1Janie publicized the event through her newsletter, blog and author Facebook page and asked her friends and fans to share. She reached out to local “influencers”, people who have their own blogs and email lists, to help spread the word.

She did a drawing and gave away prizes AND she arranged to have 10% of her book sales that evening donated to the Santa Fe Girls’ School.

Official Release of Code Red

Janie Chodosh is the author of award-winning Death Spiral, the first book in the Faith Flores Science Mysteries and an upcoming non-fiction book, Wild LIves: Leading Conservationist on the Animals and Planet They Love (Skyhorse, April 2018).

Set in Santa Fe, Code Red’s heroine 17-year-old Faith Flores is back for another kick-ass code-redscience mystery!

Faith clashes with a local environmentalist trying to pull the plug on the genetically modified chiles from the research lab where she is interning for the summer. Congratulations to Santa Fe author Alexandra Diaz! Her book The Only Road (published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers/A Paula Wiseman Book./Oct. 2016) was named a 2017 Children’s Notable Book & received the 2017 Pura Belpré Honor Award
